Jet Black Heart (Meaning behind the lyrics)

 

 

So I’m a fan of 5sos. Not from the screaming fandom but anyway. I actually admire them a lot. The new album is called “Sounds good, feels good”. (Funny, because it really does). One of the most beautiful songs that give me goosebumps is called Jet Black Heart.

As I listened to it for like 1000 times I realized I want to write down my review what this song is about. What’s there behind those strong lyrics (not saying that I’m right). I actually started to hear it a bit different when I started this post. 

Here are the lyrics:

Here is what I heard:

We all have a dark side. There is a demon inside us. No matter if we are asleep or we are awake, this demon is always inside. And we have to live with that. 

And that little demon may hurt someone. So it’s easier to go away from people that have hurt you. 

But then you think that you can’t live without this person and you start to fight for him/her. But that didn’t help.

(And this paragraph is totally out of everything I wrote before) Then I start to hear some kind of bullying story. The person is broken inside (probably got bullied) so the phrase “can you see inside” is like “can you see what you have done – I’m miserable, unhappy and broken inside. I can’t trust anyone because of the issues that were caused by bullying. Probably thinking about suicide and do self-harm”.

So to stay in the story that I started, you might want to forget about what I wrote about bullying. But I just wanted to show you that it’s ok to hear a different meaning in this song. That’s why this song is so amazing. Because everyone can feel this song in their own way.

So now you know that my heart is broken. But can you see me from inside? The way I feel now? Right at this moment?

Now I can’t love this person anymore, I’m acting that I’m fine. I don’t care about this person that used to be special tome just a while ago. I don’t say anything about what I really feel, but there is so much to tell, to express. Trying to keep away from this person. This is how I curse my own life. I start to talk bad stuff about this person. But no matter what I do, I still think about him/her and you would love to forget all the pain and start it over again.

Of course, I did some mistakes too. Unfortunately, I can’t bring them back. If I said something, it’s already said. If I did something, it’s already done. There is nothing that I can do to bring him/her back.

I will always make mistakes. That’s in my blood. (That’s in everyone’s blood actually). So I’m only human and I might make some mistakes. I would like to start it again and forget about all the past. Forget about all my demons. Go back to the past where we were happy. But then I have to go back. Go back to the real life and live. 

There will always be ups and downs but life goes on. No matter what happens there is always another day. As you say there’s always sun after rain.
